Signs By Scott offers two types of engraving. The first which is newer technology is called LASER ENGRAVING. Laser engraving is done by a CO2 laser engraver and is much more versitable than rotary engraving. Almost everything that you can do with a rotary engraver you can do with a laser engraver, but with more precision. However, there are some items that are much better suited to have rotary engraved. Good products that are better suited for Laser Engraving are; Fine line and very detailed art logo or drawing, Photographs, Wine Glasses, Wine Bottles, and other items that are concaved and convexed. Additionally, laser engraving allows for finer lines and more detailing for your engraving needs. One of the nice things about laser engraving is the ability to cut custom shapes and designs out of different colors of acrylic. (Click here for sample colors). In addition to the solid translucent acrylic, engraving plastic comes in a wide varity of color combinations to fit your requests.

The second type of engraving, as mentioned above, is ROTARY ENGRAVING. Rotary engraving is more common and what most people think of when they hear and think of engraving. Rotary engraving has been seen in the making of name badges, plaques, and the cutting of irregular shapes in plastic.
